I am a theatre scholar and theatre critic based in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Originally from Los Angeles, I have plied my critical trade in New York, Dublin, and London, for publications including Variety, The Guardian, and Irish Theatre Magazine, which I co-founded and edited from 1998-2005. I sometimes talk about culture on the radio. My research interests include the work of the québécois theatremaker Robert Lepage, and the annual pan-European pop song spectacular, the Eurovision Song Contest. I teach theatre criticism at university and secondary school levels.
